A delightful blend of savory and sweet, featuring layers of ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese, dusted with powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of turkey or chicken
  • 2 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Dijon mustard or raspberry jam for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg together with milk, salt, and pepper until combined and fluffy.
  2. Assemble the sandwich by layering cheese, ham, turkey, and another slice of cheese between two slices of bread.
  3. Dip the assembled sandwich in the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  4. Heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat until melted.
  5. Cook the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese melts.
  6. Dust the finished sandwich with powdered sugar.
  7. Serve hot with Dijon mustard or raspberry jam.

Notes

Use thick slices of bread to withstand the fillings and avoid sogginess by using slightly stale bread.
