A delightful peach cobbler that brings nostalgia and comfort with juicy peaches and a buttery, crispy topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided into 1/2 cup for peaches and 1/2 cup for batter)
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to set the stage for your delicious cobbler.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Gently stir until the peaches are well-coated. Transfer this mixture into a greased baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour in the milk and mix until just combined. The batter will be somewhat lumpy; do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter evenly over the peach filling in the baking dish. Do not stir or mix.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the batter. This will help create a rich, golden crust!
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. This waiting time will be a delightful torture as your kitchen fills with mouthwatering scents!

Notes

Pair with vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream. For variety, try adding spices or using mixed berries.
