Delightful orange-flavored meringue cookies that are light, fluffy, and gluten-free.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whip the egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  3. Add granulated sugar gradually, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold in the orange zest and juice.
  5. Pipe or spoon mounds of the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until dry and easily lifted off parchment.
  7. Cool completely before serving.
