  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • BBQ sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Create the spice mixture: In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the brisket all over with olive oil, then apply the spice mixture thoroughly.
  4. Prepare to bake: Place the brisket in a large roasting pan, fat side up, and pour beef broth into the pan.
  5. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake for about 4-5 hours, or until fork-tender.
  6. Rest the brisket: Remove it from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve sliced against the grain with your favorite BBQ sauce.
