Quick and protein-packed bagels made in the air fryer, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • Toppings: everything seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, add flour and baking powder. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
  2. Create the dough: Add cottage cheese to the flour mixture and mix until it forms a chunky dough.
  3. Knead the dough: Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Shape the bagels: Divide dough into 4 parts, roll each into a log and connect ends to form bagel shapes.
  5. Prepare the egg wash: Whisk egg with a splash of water or milk and brush onto bagels.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F.
  7. Arrange and cook the bagels: Place bagels in air fryer basket and cook for 15-17 minutes.
  8. Cool and serve: Allow bagels to cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store leftover bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to a month.
