A light and airy salted caramel mousse, perfectly balancing sweetness and sea salt for a decadent dessert experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 large egg whites

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel mixture by combining sugar and water in a saucepan, stirring until dissolved and cooking until golden brown.
  2. Add the salted caramel sauce and sea salt to the caramel mixture and let it cool to room temperature.
  3. Whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
  4. Beat the egg whites in another bowl until stiff peaks form.
  5. Combine the caramel mixture with the whipped cream, then gently fold in the beaten egg whites until incorporated.
  6. Chill the mousse in serving dishes for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve with a sprinkle of flaked sea salt, a dollop of whipped cream, or chocolate shavings for added flavor.
