Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 whole egg
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup onion finely chopped
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 ounces cheddar cheese sliced
2 tablespoons ketchup
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
Combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix until just combined.
Transfer half of the meat mixture into the greased loaf pan, pressing down to form an even layer.
Add the sliced cheddar cheese over the meat mixture, leaving a small border around the edges.
Take the remaining meat mixture and place it over the cheddar cheese layer, pressing down to seal the edges.
Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of your meatloaf.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes until the center registers 160°F (70°C) with an instant-read thermometer.
Once baked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
