Tender, savory beef short ribs slow-cooked to perfection in a rich sauce that envelops every bite.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons thyme
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the ribs in a large skillet on all sides until browned.
  3. Transfer the ribs to a slow cooker.
  4. Sauté the onion and garlic in the same skillet until softened.
  5. Create the sauce by adding beef broth, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, thyme, and bay leaves to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Pour the sauce over the ribs in the slow cooker.
  7. Slow Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender.
  8. Serve and enjoy after removing the bay leaves.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the sauce. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3-4 days or frozen for 3 months.
