Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix them to blend well.
  2. Add the wet ingredients: Add the warm water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough starts to form.
  3. Transfer the dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl: Cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough: Once risen, punch down the dough gently to release the air. Divide it into 4 equal portions.
  6. Shape each portion: Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Cover the buns: Cover with a clean towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven: While the buns are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake the buns: Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are a beautiful golden brown.
  10. Cool the buns: Allow the baked buns to cool before slicing.

Notes

Store any leftover buns in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer preservation, freeze them wrapped tightly in plastic wrap followed by foil.
