Delightful soft and fluffy burger buns that elevate any meal with their pillowy texture and subtle sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl and let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, mixing well until smooth.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions, shaping each into a ball.
  7. Place shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Optionally brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool before using.

Notes

Store leftover buns in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat from frozen as needed.
