A moist and tender coffee cake with a delicious cinnamon sugar swirl, perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the butter mixture, alternating with sour cream until just combined.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon sugar by mixing brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Layer half of the batter in the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar, add the remaining batter, and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with coffee or tea; can be served with whipped cream or ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to three days.
