A vibrant and flavorful dish that combines ground turkey, spices, and a creamy bang bang sauce served over fluffy rice.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Wash and Prepare Rice: Rinse the rice under cold water and combine it with 2 cups of water in a pot; bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water is fully absorbed.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: While the rice cooks, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté these fragrant ingredients for about 2–3 minutes, until they become soft and aromatic.
  3. Brown the Turkey: Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until browned and no pink remains, about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  4. Flavorful Simmer: Stir in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of sriracha, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2 minutes to let all those delicious flavors meld together.
  5. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, remaining 1 tablespoon of sriracha, and remaining 1 tablespoon of honey. This creamy sauce is where the magic happens—smooth with a kick!
  6. Assemble the Bowls: Once the rice is ready, divide it among your serving bowls. Top each bowl generously with the spicy turkey mixture and drizzle with the homemade bang bang sauce.
