Delightful pastries with flaky layers and irresistible cinnamon-sugar goodness, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry or Crescent Roll Dough
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Melted Unsalted Butter
  • Powdered Sugar (Confectioners’ Sugar)
  • Milk (or Cream)
  • Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll your puff pastry or crescent roll dough onto your prepared baking sheet.
  3. Brush the entire surface of the dough with about half of your melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle about three-quarters of your cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough.
  5. Fold the dough in half lengthwise (if using puff pastry) and lightly press down to seal the edges.
  6. Cut the dough lengthwise into 1-inch wide strips.
  7. Pick up each strip and carefully twist it several times.
  8. Place the twisted strips onto your prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  10. Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth (optional glaze).
  12. Let the twists cool slightly, then drizzle with the prepared glaze.

Notes

These pastries pair wonderfully with coffee or cold milk. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days, or freeze for longer storage.
