  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue and green food coloring

  • Wooden sticks or skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly to remove any wax or impurities. Insert wooden sticks into the tops of the apples.
  2. Combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, monitoring with a candy thermometer until it reaches 300°F — the hard crack stage.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and blue and green food coloring, stirring to achieve the perfect ocean hue.
  5. Dip each apple into the colorful candy mixture, ensuring it is fully coated, then let excess candy drip off.
