A vibrant medley of chicken, Thai basil, and spices, Thai Basil Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 1 onion, sliced (optional)
  • Steamed rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds to a minute.
  3. Cook the sliced chicken breast until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, stir-frying for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Mix together the soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar in a small bowl, then pour over the chicken and vegetables.
  6. Stir in the Thai basil leaves, allowing them to wilt.
  7. Serve the hot Thai Basil Chicken over steamed rice.

Notes

Pairs well with jasmine rice or coconut rice, and a fresh cucumber salad.
