Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 23 Thai bird’s eye chilies, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped chilies, sautéing until the garlic turns golden, about 30 seconds.
  3. Cook the sliced chicken, stir-frying until no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar, simmering for another 2 minutes.
  5. Toss in the fresh Thai basil leaves and cook just until they wilt, about 1 minute.
  6. Serve hot over a bed of fluffy jasmine rice.

Notes

Adjust the spice level by using fewer chilies or substituting with bell peppers for a milder taste.
