Tres Leches Cake is a classic Latin American dessert made from a sponge cake soaked in three types of milk, resulting in a moist and creamy treat perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • Cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
  2. Mix the flour and baking powder in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Mix the three kinds of milk in a separate bowl.
  7. Poke holes all over the cake with a fork once it is baked and cooled.
  8. Pour the milk mixture over the cake, covering it well. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
  9. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
