Festive chocolate chip cookies enriched with white chocolate and a hint of peppermint, creating a cozy and delightful treat for the holidays.

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and crushed peppermint candies if using.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  10. Optionally, sprinkle extra crushed peppermint on top of the cookies before baking.

Notes

Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can help prevent excessive spreading. Adjust flavors by using toffee bits or citrus zest for variation.
