A comforting bowl of wonton soup filled with tender wontons, savory broth, and fresh vegetables, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Wonton wrappers
  • Ground pork
  • Green onions, chopped
  • Soy sauce
  • Ginger, minced
  • Garlic, minced
  • Chicken broth
  • Carrots, sliced
  • Baby bok choy, chopped
  • Sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, soy sauce, minced ginger, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything together until it forms a cohesive filling.
  2. Assemble the wontons: Take a wonton wrapper and place a small spoonful of the prepared filling in the center. Carefully fold the wrapper over and pinch the edges securely to seal.
  3. Cook the wontons: In a pot, bring your chicken broth to a rolling boil. Gently add the wontons to the broth and let them cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add vegetables: As the wontons float, toss in the sliced carrots and chopped bok choy, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  5. Finish with flavor: Drizzle a touch of sesame oil over the soup for an elevating finish.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Grab a bowl and ladle out the steaming soup, ensuring each serving has plenty of wontons and veggies.

Notes

Ensure wonton edges are well-sealed; use a dab of water if needed. For a healthier option, swap the ground pork with ground chicken or turkey.
